it's ironic, they believe in small government but also believe the government should police and control everyone based on religious views. the doublethink is just baffling.
>>
>>56599242
Sometime in the 80's with the Reagan coalition, and the Moral Majority types stayed around through the W Bush administration.

I'd say the Republicans got more secular a little before Obama became president, but clearly not completely.
>>
>>56599912
The GOP has had a split personality for decades now, largely because of the evangelical takeover referred to.

Shaking my head family, she was supposed to be the chosen one. Nothing feels better than her campaign being in freefall. I can't wait for her to make a concession speech, I will watch that every day.

I mean come on!

Whether you like it or not, Hillary Clinton will be president, just because she's a woman, just like Obama became president just because he was black.

It's sad to say this and I don't support it either but unless something goes very wrong, this'll be the most likely outcome.

S-Sharia?
>>

Yeah, it's the Evangelicals. They believe we're a blessed nation because we support the Israeli people. They want to bring about Biblical Revelations. Truly cancerous, as you can imagine.

Didn't Jesus teach us all that those who hear his words and understand them will do so willingly?

Why do people insist upon denying others their god-given free will?

Yes, "free will"

To walk among the ignorant, one must feign ignorance.
>>
Well, according to the american constitution, atheists and gays can start new religions, and their freedom of religion MUST be upheld.

Reminder Cruz isn't arguing to outlaw gays or atheism, he just has a problem with the supreme court redefining marriage. Every time he's pressed on the gay issue, he says it should be left to states to decide and if people want gay marriage, they should vote for it, not leave it to unelected lawyers.
>>
>no room for gays or trannies because they are mentally ill
>country is for christians, who are totally not mentally ill guys i swear

Religion is the ultimate bluepill and it is a mental illenss, just as much as being a faggot is.
>>
>>56603641
No. They really don't.
And that's a good thing.
>>
>>56597887
i can only hope this man is elected so we can clean up this country. GOD WILLING HE WILL BE.
>>
>>56603900
We did that already. Turns out denying people the right to get married is unconstitutional.
>>
>>56603900
If states were up to it though we would have a whole bunch of states that still would say a lot of shit legal now would be still be illegal.

Hell some would probably even still have alcohol prohibition. The majority will always refuse to give rights to a minority set of people (race/creed/sex/people that like booze in the area whatever you wanna say)
>>
>>56602065
The first amendment you nigger
>>
>>56603900
The constitution of any country is the supreme law. Therefore you don't get to vote on the interpretation. Like any law, the interpretation is done for by judges. People agreed to this constitution, so now you can't say that it gives too much freedom.
>>
>>56604007
If any evangelical fag gets hold of the country, it will be complete a shitstorm. See, America is not a Christian country, and that is guarantied by the constitution. Because the constitution clearly says freedom of religion, ANY religion. Which means that first of all, gays could start a religion it witch they are allowed, and it is moral for them to get married. And that means you can't stop them, because you will be infringing on their freedom of religion. The same for atheist. They can start a church that says God does not exist. And worse, muslims could say they want sharia law to be recognised on american soil.

Christians are having it very good in America today. Wanting more, will not only make people hate them, but it will bring forward a lot of problems because the same rights that they claim can be claimed by anyone.
>>
>>56604867
The evangelicals (and therefore some republicans) also have this never ending persecution complex when like you said they have it pretty good and still have a significant amount of the population. As an independent I find it quite sad/pathetic. They can't ever be happy unless everybody is like them.

>very time he's pressed on the gay issue, he says it should be left to states to decide
It was.
They decided to legalize it.
>>
>>56598630
People will believe it who want to believe it anyway.
>>
>>56605075
There are people out there trying to convince everyone that there is a secret, sinister organization which is trying to get everyone to voluntarily submit to spiritual bondage and create a New World Religion and subsequent New World Order.

And quite amusingly, they tell you that the only way to avoid falling victim to their trickery is to kneel before your lord and savior Jesus Christ and repent for your sins.
>>
>>56597887
>gays
Neat.
>atheists
If he'd have said 'religion' instead, I'd have totally considered giving Cruz my vote. Typical extremist religious fucking fanatic.
>>
>>56599912
This is false. The overwhelming majority of Republicans do not believe government should police and/or control everyone based on religious views, unless you could things like outlawing murder, rape, theft, and drugs as "controlling everyone based on religious views."
>>
>>56605784
>Drugs

What about weed though? That's a bit of a grey area and actually has helped some people medically. I've personally never used it but was just curious.
