I installed 8 smart boards at a school 3 years ago, this summer I replaced those 8 smart boards with with the led touch screen versions.

College professor here. Interestingly enough, my college still has some chalkboards, but it's not because of funding issues. Physics professors at my school went fucking ape when thr school announced we were getting smart boards. For whatever reason, physics professors always use chalk, while everyone else uses white.

We had smart boards in our school and they did fucking nothing unique but costs thousands to install and, if anything, were in fact more tedious to write on because the screens and pens were really shitty, like writing on a DS or something, really early touch screen technology that was more of a hindrance than a help.
