Our culture doesn't really prioritize having a standing military like other superpowers do. We don't have a massive manufacturing capability either. I suppose we've got some decent research and finance industries but they're still rather small compared to other superpowers.
I think we've found a niche as an important player on the Anglo side in SEA.
