There's a reason that cities and townships throughout history have had Shi Tpa Town's (before gentrification) and that's where the mindless zombies dwell. If you live a well enough lifestyle I'm sure you're not worried about your neighbors kicking your door in for your vidya and electronics.
Honestly it will just help designate the people and areas that should be avoided because of drug usage. Sure, rehab might make sense, but that doesn't work on a large scale. And I sure as fuck don't want to pay to rehab some druggy. I'd rather hit him in the chest with a round of .45acp or buckshot on his way to his next fix.
But I realize my views are extreme.
Basically I don't buy into governmental "moral" arguments.
Government doesn't exist to maintain culture or keep people good. It should enforce legal contracts between citizens, provide a national defense, a social safety net without much leeway, and basic infrastructure/border protection. Anything else and they can fuck right off.

there are 2 types of drug users
those that want to enhance their mood, these people usually do drugs at parties or with friends
and then you have people that use it as escapism or have an addictive personality
these people usually don't care about the law because they have a literal mental illness.
addiction isn't only about drugs you can use gambling as an example, there are people that go to casino to have fun and relax, and then theres people that spend almost all of their weekends at a casino and will spend huge sums of money.
in my experience making it illegal only hurts addictive people because instead of receiving help for thier problems they'll just get sent to prison which only worsens their condition as prison has a huge supply of drugs.
making something illegal doesn't stop people form doing it. the current drug war just makes drug dealers rich and people with addictive problems just suffer.
