There are two problems with your summation. 1) It's not about it being "a good thing" to have your way of life wiped out. Turnabout is fair play. 2) Liberals embrace multiculturalism and look at the preservation of the dominant culture as inherently racist, colonial, patriarchal, and likely fascist (unless we're talking about Israel preserving THEIR way of life).
That last note is actually a good one, in terms of undermining Oliver. You shouldn't be whining about an apparent contradiction in his argument, since you've manufactured it. You should be pointing out that he's factually incorrect. Much more recently, Jewish refugees settled in Palestine and, eventually, completely took over through violence, installing laws that are antagonistic to the native population. We don't celebrate that one in the form of a holiday, but we pay homage to it every day in the UN.
