Probably some semi-arid or poor soil lands, it's still at low risk.
Desertifocarion is caused by a couple of things.
>farmers let their cows and what not eat grass on a piece of land that is too small to support x amount of cows, the grass gets eaten, and erosion takes place, wind keeps plants and grass from planting their roots
