The Quran is that scary to you guys? That says a lot about it I guess. As a Muslim I do not think one can be made Muslim just by reading the Quran. In Arabic, its original language, it is an incredibly and unnaturally powerful text, but it is not in translation. In Arabic it makes me shiver, in English, nothing. Literally, nothing. The translation are so disturbingly terrible. so I guess as long as you're reading it in English you don't need to worry abou it brainwashing you.

It is for you Indo-European languages speakers, Especially English speakers. You see, English is an analytic language-modern English at least, Old English was synthetic- while Arabic is very synthetic. That is one reason for its difficulty for you guy in terms of grammar and syntax. The other thing is what phoneticians call speech sounds, most Arabic speech sounds are totally different from English ones. You'll have a hard time pronouncing most letters because their sounds do not exist in English. You'll vomit you're lungs trying to pronounce خ or غ or ع. And the there is writing, which will definitely be the hardest part. However, you'll find that Persian speakers, Urdu speakers, Hebrew speakers, and some speakers of African languages find Arabic not so difficult.

Urdu and Persian use Arabic script and have speech sounds that mach Arabic speech sounds. That makes it way easier. The same goes for Turkish speakers too, they had Arabic script until Ataturk banned it and replaced it with something else. Besides, Arabic culture/language have heavily influenced Iran, Turkey, and the subcontinent for 1400 years.

Being a qari is not an easy thing even for native Arabic speakers. But I think if they really put they're minds into it they'll master it and no one will be able to tell if they were Arabic native speakers or not. I've heard a Filipino qari once, he sounded like the qari Ali Jaber or even better.

One of my workmates has a master in arabic studies and she mentioned Arabic not only uses cases like German and Latin, but usually shows this through context.
I'm wondering how this doesn't lead to massive miscommunications both in spoken and written language as most casus languages use case endings or participles or suffixes to reflect this. If it's purely context-based, I don't really see how clear communication is possible.
