When I was in college I did lift alot, hours a day. I had a personal trainer and everything. Tried for six months to put on weight. Gained 5 lbs of water weight from drinking 2 gallons of protein shakes a day. Lost it in 2 days when I stopped.
I was strong as fuck and my body was a rock though, despite looking like a concentration camp survivor. Did 120 pull ups in a row and 1000 pushups every morning.
My body just converts all my food intake into piss in about 30 min. I have little energy as a result though.

Do you walk regularly? You have to remember that most Americans live in areas that are unwalkable. Most of the United States is designed around automobile rather than pedestrian traffic. You can't just walk down to the cornerstore in America when the nearest one is several kilometers from your house. These hambeasts literally sit on the couch all day snacking, get in their cars anytime they have to go anywhere, probably use drive throughs and the like, and basically don't engage in any kind of casual walking like people in other countries do. Add to that the incredibly depressing lifestyle Americans suffer through that encourages cumpulsive eating and you get massive obesity rates.
