You have 2 types of Christian, brainwashed/ignorant and the based one who is really argumented on his beliefs
You have only one type of Atheist, the fedora manchild one
Atheists are like liberals, they are so entitled to their opinion they end up ignoring arguments and go full "MUH FEELS", brainwashed Christians are no better
>>
>>56501615
sometimes they make a point desu.
like why do people who believe in god not question their fate or credibility. i think ppl have lost critical thinking
people believe in everything they hear. thats why feminism exists, thats why other degenerate shit exists in the first place.
>>
>>56501825
I'm really into biology and physics, the more I know about those sciences the harder it is for me to think there is nothing that created us so perfectly. We embrace religion since ancient times, different concepts for a superior being or God.
We are not just a bag of chemicals like Atheists claim, we can reason, love, create, destroy; unlike animals we have conscience and judgement, we don't act purely by instinct.
I'm agnostic theist, there is no way to truly know if God exist but with what I stated I find it really hard to believe there is none
>>
>>56502115
well yeah ur right u cant be sure of either

atheist cant prove it doesnt exist
theists cant prove it does exist.

this is critical thinking and people should think your way.
people think faith = Reality. it is not.

Pure Atheist and Theists will never agree with each other, a lot of insecure Atheists end up being Christians due to the world view the religion has and a lot of insecure Theist end up in atheism. If you can't argument your beliefs you will end up in the other side and just repeat what the majority says

Pretty much this. Religion brought a lot of moral beliefs though, if modern Christianity/other peaceful religions never existed we would never have the moral views we have today. It can also be really destructive just like Islam or Christianity in the dark ages
>>

this.

Popular atheism has really ruined atheism.

What most don't know is that the most based form of atheism is agnostic atheism. i.e. pure skepticism. It is what the patrician founders of the US believed (those that weren't Deist, also a patrician belief).

Now atheism has become a banner for nerds with low self-esteem who have nothing but the illusion of their intellect to shore up their ego by trying to look smarter-than-thou.

I'm always skeptical of anyone who claims to understand science and still has any shred of believe in a supreme being. Yes, science can't disprove a god, just as it can't disprove an invisible unicorn, but both are just unlikely in the eyes of science. Only idiots think that just because science can't disprove something that there is a 50-50 chance it's true.
>>
I have no fucking idea how people can still take serious the fucking notion that a god exists.

I however wont lie and say that religion is extremely useful in terms of brainwashing and creating powerful armies.

But if truth is what you seek you're drop dead retarded to be using religion to fucking find anything.
>>
>>56502115
i use to think like this too, but then studying science i saw a pattern. When we reached a wall and let go of our biases for an idea, it was then where we actually came up with an answer that we wouldn't imagine existed. Black holes, light spectrum, etc. and from this i hypothesize, what if this notion of creation we have is also all wrong, what if it's not what we always thought what it was, rather an answer yet not known to us. Not a Anthropomorphic being, but something else completely different.
>>

we always observe things in universe as humans.

well what if the perfection we see only chaos in the eye of non humans.
i mean complete chaos. we see it as perfect but still it may be pure chaos.
>>
>>56503537
yeah i felt like that for your too, but realize is just my bias thought. Humans are pattern seeking animals, and we want things to fit a mold, specially perceptions we have come to ingrained ourselves with, such as concepts of deities, and guided creation. If this things are indeed true, we will eventual discover them down the line, but we only time can really definitively answer those questions.

I still would consider myself a christian even thoo I don't belive all that stuff in the bible.
>>
>>56504062
its very complex thing to explain.

we humans always want to connect things like "oh it looks so perfect, it must be done by x" example biology, you say it look so perfect everything seems to fit. yes in humans eye it looks perfectly fitting but if u look at it and think outside the box and question ur whole logic
what if ur seeing right now isnt perfection but pure chaos?

that what thinking outside the box is.
einstein did. this. thats what all intellegent people did.
they started to think "outside the box".
u can google it too.
i think everything we see is a perfectly looking chaos

Oh look, an atheist.

It is quite possible that somebody like you, without any notable success or discovery on your back could be smarter than all those geniuses history has given us and that also happened to be believers, surely those persons never comfronted themselves with the doubts you've had, and surely, being dumber than you, it is possible that they never solved those issues that you presented yourself with. In fact the father of modern genetics could very well be a retard, he died a believer in the days of modern science and fedoras.

pretty shit. the fall of oil prices has hit us really hard. Jobs are rapidly disappearing. This is the #1 reason why a lot of guys come to your beloved country. and why women don't because they get supported throughout their lives by men, Whether by their husbands, fathers or brothers. they don't need a job and certainly don't need to go to europe to live in shitty tents.

the situation with ISIS has been stale for the past couple of months. We (Shia, so are Kurds and the government) are not actively trying to retake lands. but rather protect our own territories and deal with our shit. and wait for ISIS to be weakened or become bankrupt and start to turn on itself. we would lose many lives and resources that we currently don't have to fight a fight that isn't our burden to fight.
>>
>>56502115
I find it hard to divide man from animal based on your criteria. Mostly because your criteria aren't necessarily exclusive to humans.

>>56503537

I really recommend you this book:
Guyton and Hall physiology, you can download it as a pdf for free
It may changes your mind on the "humans are not perfect"
The main difference between us and animals is that we don't act by instinct and that we can reason, this does not apply to any animal (even monkeys)
>>
>>56504651
yeah but we cannot be sure if i am right or you are right.

i mean who decides wahts perfect you know what i mean?

if human decide whats perfect then it counts only for humans.
if we ever make contact with aliens they may see something else as perfect.
you know what i mean?

>>
>>56505180
>Perfection is sometimes subjective to one's mind

thats the point i wanted to make
.
that we are trapped in our minds we never will universally think objectively
>>
>>56504645
well, it's complicated.
they have that preconceived notion that europe is basically heaven. countries so rich and advanced that anyone who makes it there wins it. a literal utopia with hot chicks and where everyone is happy and rich as fuck. this is partly influenced by the past immigrants that have made it in there and got a good paying job.
However they fail to comprehend that this was before the refugee crisis when not so much people were flooding in. So after they dangerously cross the sea and spend the next two weeks sleeping in forests and avoiding police. only to be taken to camps and tents and still can't find jobs
they get frustrated. it doesn't help that they paid like 5000 or something for this trip. I'm not trying to defend their actions but in short, They think that everyone there is rich and living the good life. Also there are many who aren't acting entitled and appreciate the fact that these people are helping them. I'm not going to say the majority of them since I don't have any source to that claim. but definitely a good chunk of them (personally know several people who went to Europe recently).
>>
>>56504848
When I say we're not perfect I mean shit like our Retina being the wrong way around, causing a blind spot because our nerves need to go through the retina to connect to the appropriate light sensing cells.
The invertebrate (Example: Octopus) by contrast doesn't have to penetrate the retina since the nerves approach from the correct direction.
Of course invertebrates for entirely different reasons can also stab themselves in the brain while eating since their digestive tract goes through the brain.
So I guess that's fair.

But in any case that kind of thing just reinforces my idea that humanity coming about via an undirected, iterative process is entirely reasonable.

Also define reason and not acting on instinct and possibly go into detail on why you don't think this applies to non-humans.

Just because I respect the divine and literal truth of the Holy Bible and believe every dogma of the Holy See does NOT mean I am 'brainwashed'. The truth in these things is self-evident because IT SAYS SO IN THE BIBLE. You know what ISN'T mentioned in The Bible? Evolution. Because it's not real.

but, Jesus christ this place is depressing. it is filled with so much negativity about everything. Yet I can't stop myself from coming here.
>>
>>56505507
We have a much more developed brain than animals. Humans a lot of times act based on their feelings and judgement, if we truly acted based on instinct we would only care for the one that offers food (just like animals). Our reptilian part of the brain only acts in moments of danger.
Things like hole on our retina for the nerves to pass, leaving a blind spot are "compensated" by the brain and removed. Unless you have a problem you will never see the blind spot.
When I said biology I meant the human body so I don't have an opinion on what you wrote about animals.
The idea of pure casual evolution is completely reasonable and logical, that's why I'm an agnostic Theist and not a full blown agnostic. But the "perfection" on many things makes me truly skeptical about it.

>>56509630
Now that is just ignorance. You should read Immanuel Kant's work, he explains about how there are things in the world that can't be measured with numbers (spirituality), and about how science should not interfere on that. Then he also explains that some things can be measured, and religion shouldn't interfere with those. He basically kindly tells everyone to fuck off and take care of their own businesses. Problem is, the world didn't listen to him and now you have a situation where spirituality and science are seem as opposites that fight each other indefinitely. Read "The critique of pure reason", anon. Kant's work can also explain why Muslims can become terrorists while Christians usually can't.

The last major world conflict will not just involve conflicting religious undertones (particularly Christians, Muslims, and Jews) but also secular, anti-clerical religion. What I mean by that is that there is a humanist myth that humanity can succeed in the world as fully rational human beings.

This myth, along with with many other religious myths that communities all over the world will be discredited, and in the wake of a disillusioned and confused world a tyrant will arise. I assure you that when the world finally agrees on something, it will be utterly evil, because we are evil.

Even if perfection were not subjective humans aren't perfect.
Constant iteration and selection with mistakes every generation is what has birthed modern humans.
Mistakes have been kept just because having them didn't matter.
Inefficient paths have been iterated upon just because they happened and going back down the path to start again would just be worse.
