How long until McDonald's and Taco Bell's are entirely automated? Using kiosks for ordering, assembly machines to make food, face recognition to ensure the right order goes to the right person, and gun turrets in case of thieves?

What'll happen to all the Dindus with fast food jobs when this happens?
>>
they start outsourcing the jobs to india, china, thailand, etc, because labour there is cheaper than machines here. you'll get your big mac with a side of fries fresh from the third world

I don't see the problem. I'm completly serious. Blacks are worthless, too dumb and too violent and have to be "phased out" of society eventually.

Mcdonalds food is pure Cancer, stopped going there years ago

No automated machine is going to save them, they have thousands of restaurants closing all over the world right now

Its the same reason why theres hundreds of Walmarts all over America that are closing

The people are awake and are dumping this corporate cancer of humanity, the automated machines are just a way of preserving what little profit they make now before they crash and burn
>>
>>56472373
It is not that bad but it I know what you are saying. The food used to be cheap but now for the same price I can get actual premade food. I heard in Europe the prices are even more bigly.

Also, McDonalds corporate isn't going to lose money, they own plenty of property if/when their stores close and that property is worth a lot of money.

>tfw Grandpa sold his 10 McD's in early 2000s

Your Grandpappy got out at the right time, the property you talk about that they own wont be worth much for long when the financial shit hits the fan in the west, and it will happen, the Euro and the Dollar only have so long left

It's happening soon. After the federal minimum wage is raised again you'll see fast food places get LEAN like Starbucks and Japanese car companies, get rid of dead weight like cashiers and old soda fountains, minmax their menus and turn their kitchens into invisible "food" factories. I can't wait for the future!
>>
The capitalist system can't survive without manual labor it will always need to keep workers around because if everyone is unemployed who's gonna do the buying.

New York and maybe a few other big cities tried "faceless" coin-op automated food serving, back in the 1940-50s, places were called "automats".

They never caught on, most people still like some human contact when dining out, even for fast food.
>>
>>56476864
I've seen these in the Netherlands.
>>
>>56476864
Implying that'll make a difference in modern society. People will be told why it's better, on TV, online, everywhere - and they will comply. More programs and more socialism for the unemployed.
>>
Replacing cashiers with machines will be easy.

Replacing the kitchen fags will be harder. A Mcdonalds kitchen is already a marvel of efficency, it's hard for me to imagine a machine that can reliably do that work for extended periods of time.

When I try to work it out in my head I end up with a very complicated series of machines that would be extremely expensive, and I can't figure out sanitation either.
>>
>>56477551
Burning
>>
>>56476864
That was more than a generation ago. The average consumers today are a completely different group of people and the cashiers are now third world degenerates that can't even understand you.
>>
>>56476864
I think the big difference is back then it was way to different to their current societal normals.

We are so used to faceless soulless shit that it won't be a big change for us.

However, I do think have zero human staff will just be too weird.

>>
>>56476864
Wrong conclusion. No one cares about human contact, they care about the fucking food. People want to order what they want, how they want it, and fresh.
>>
There's no way for any fast food restaurant to be completely automated.

If it was, edgy teens would purposely destroy the expensive equipment. Niggers would go in the back and steal food (and no, "gun turrets" would be a huge liability nightmare). And the homeless would literally just start sleeping in the stores because who would stop them?

What will likely happen is the cashiers and majority of kitchen staff will be automated. There will be one FOH employee to provide that "human contact" to the customers, handle any complaints and make sure the self-checkouts are functioning properly. And there will be one or two BOH employees to do things that the robots can't do efficiently. Maybe even one for the drive thru.
>>
>>56478421
people will pay for human premium

imagine there is a robot that can create the exact same cheap cup of good coffee over and over with minimal human input

well call this robot "McDonalds"

now imagine there's another store that makes shitty overpriced coffee by people with weird hair

well call this place "Starbucks"

Would anyone buy coffee from Starbucks?

people will pay for human interaction

bank teller jobs have increased with the advent of ATMs and online banking, not decreased

technology is an amplifier for human labor, not a replacement
>>
>>56471712
It's called Febo.
>>
>>assembly machines to make food

That machinery will be awful expensive just to make a slow trickle of hamburgers.

Plus high maintenance and you'll need people there to load and clean machines.
>>
>>56479810
>technology is an amplifier for human labor, not a replacement

Perhaps in the short term, but in the long term technology will advance to the point where robots will vastly outdo humans in almost everything, especially menial tasks.
>>
>>56476864
>They never caught on
They were wildly popular for decades. Learn some history son.

>By the time of Horn's death in 1941, the business had 157 retail shops and restaurants in the Philadelphia and New York areas and served 500,000 patrons a day. During the 1940s and the 1950s, more than 50 New York Horn & Hardart restaurants served 350,000 customers a day.

>>56478219
Not at all I think most people have grown to hate their fellow human beings and really who can blame them since everyone has become so shitty?
>>
>>56471712

Sorry, but the whole "robot making food" thing won't happen anytime soon. The order kiosks are a great start though. As someone that still works in a "fast food" environment, a lot of work has to go into the restaurant. Dishwashing, cleaning, stocking, sauces, ordering, bagging, assisting customers the list is endless. If you wonder why these places are always hiring it's not because nobody will work there, it's because they need tons of people.
>>

>>56471712
we already have these in NYC

i dont really eat fast food, but i west to a Panera a few weeks ago and there were 2 or 3 people taking orders, and there were maybe 12 or so tablets or whatever that you can just walk up to and order.

there is a screen that shows when youre orders ready
pretty neat actually
>>
Depends on if the liberals win and raise the minimum wage.
>>
the mcdonald near my place is automatised, there is only the manager, the take out is a machine and there is one guy sometimes for maintenance. My burger looks more like the picture now, I guess machines put more love into it

It is overpriced

Wal-Mart isn't doing so well either

>Walmart: Wage hikes are killing our profits

https://archive.is/uU6yK

They increased wages to $9/hour just this year and outlook is down until 2017.

Wages are supposed to go up to $10/hour in February too.
>>
>when machines take over these jobs, what will the workers do

Do you understand how silly this question is? Isn't the whole point of technology to make our lives easier, so that we DON'T have to work as much? And yet the first question we ask when a machine can do something is "What will we work on now?"

Face it, we need basic income. The idea that absolutely everyone has to earn a living is outdated. One machine can do the work of tens or even hundreds of people - you can't expect to have the same number of people working.
>>
>>56471712
Last time I went to Wal-Mart the dozen self check-out registers were full

The six at Winco were all being used too.

I've probably spent about $40 at Winco just in change.
>>
>>56471712
Approx 1 year after 15$ min wage every city with it will have all automated ordering and only like 2 people on staff at any time.
>>
>>56476864
Nowadays everyone is staring at their phone anyway, human contact is probably already a minus at these places in a sense.
>>
>>56481747

I have my own business and work from home. I make time because energy is important in my line of work.
>>
>>56476864
>most people still like some human contact when dining out
meh probably not anymore especially in the era of facebook. they'll just plaster the face of ronald mcdonald on the screen.
>>
>>56481964
Who is going to repair those machines?

How could this system work? Okay, now fast food workers don't have to work fast food anymore. Great for them, except where do they earn money now?
>>
>>56471712
they will actually get real jobs
mechanics, plumbers, electricians, ac repair , etc you know mechanical skills that a robot cant do, and that lead to inovation and perhaps invent stuff, but nah, its too hard for the dindus
>>
>>56482335
So they go to school and learn a new skill... with what money?

We're talking about fast food workers here, Pedro,

Soonvery soon. All the McDonalds in my area have all turned 24/7 and never take down the "Join the McFamily" hiring sign. They aren't actually hiring they all just have weekly group interviews now. Probablyt to try showing the business/economy is doing """fine"""

Not long, most walmarts already have tons of similar self checkouts.

Thanks to Obamacare and all these other costs regulations to businesses, we all knew this would happen. They have been testing these kiosks for awhile in smaller markets.

>Use kiosks, choose order, get receipt with unique pass code
>Burger machine warms up flash frozen burgers made in china
>Burger machine dispenses into secured glass pickup slots
>Customer sees his order number flashing ready
>Customer enters unique pass code from receipt to gain access to slot and gets food items

>Vending drinks: Pays for desired cup size, it drops
>Customer chooses desired type drink, only the cup sized amount of liquid dispenses

How? A cup of rice would be half of those calories, not to mention if you drink any juices or anything.

I'll accept you don't eat much but you will die living on that for more than a few months. It's not enough to stave off muscle degradation and it would be invisible to get the actual nutrition needed.
