The mere logistics behind all of this is pretty impressive. Like seriously, it gives you a pretty good understanding of how the holocaust must have worked that smoothly without people noticing.
I live in one of the largest German cities and until today I never saw anything of that whole refugee 'crisis' despite using public transport all the time.
Today though, my usual train was cancelled and I took a bus to a smaller station a bit outside of town.
Apparently that's where all the refugees get handled.
While I was waiting for my train, on the opposite platform suddenly two federal police officers arrived together with a larger group of private security guys and a few medics. Two minutes later a train packed with people arrived. The doors opened and first a bunch of brown guys in reflective vest left the train and started shouting commands in Arabic. Then a huge horde of people left the train, first many young guys, then families (quite a lot of children as well) and then a handful of single women. They all got encircled by the guys in reflective vest and directed in one direction. Then there was silence again. All of this literally didn't take more than 10 minutes.
It gave me a strange feeling seeing 500 people with a completely different culture who probably went through quite some shit arriving in my city and knowing that this exact situation probably happened dozens if not hundreds of times before and I probably won't see any of these people again for the next couple of years.
I really just wish we would do something to actually integrate them... this might end up a huge problem in 10 years.
