Yes they would, and they would be right to be concerned.
The whole "there are violent parts in the bible too" is kinda irrelevant because people aren't currently enforcing them. The ideology has mainly moved away from a literal interpretation.
This is the main problem is Islam right now, a great number of its followers still believe every part of their sacred book must be enforced.
This is why voices must be heard loud and clear against the current state of Islam.
