I'm on the student senate for my college. Tonight we have a meeting, and one of the proposals that is going to be made is changing homecoming King and Queen to just homecoming royalty. The purpose of this is to make it so that non-represented genders can feel like they are included. It will also allow for 2 men and 2 women to be homecoming royalty, and if they're uncomfortable with it they can always abdicate their position.
Now, this is absolute horse shit. Why the fuck are we changing it when there are, objectively, only 2 genders one can be?
