We had gay marrage before but called it civil partnerships. Nobody cared except college students looking for their newest feel good campaign. Any student who knows about politics voted against it but the weak wanna feel good so it went through. we care double dubs cause they had all the rights that married people had but it wasnt called marriage it was civil partnerships. Marriage is covered by our constitution by a the right meaning "a man and woman who can have kids". To change the meaning of mirrage is to make changes to our constitution, which's laws effect everyone. The Yes voters have now caused an unforeseen knock on effect that will have to be dealt with by every other sub group just cause a minority wanted a word change.
