>>
I don't believe so and I would be seriously interested if someone could provide proof of an example of a country that has more lenient laws than ours in regards to freedom of speech.

If the 1st Amendment fails, the 2nd Amendment works. If the 2nd Amendment fails, the 3rd Amendment works. If the 3rd Amendment fails... The bill of rights is very well thought out, a perfect circle of protection. So I can just call you a faggot and get away with it, and if your feelings get hurt, well, they're your feelings which are your responsibility.

Denmark prohibits hate speech, and defines it as publicly making statements by which a group is threatened (trues), insulted (forhånes) or degraded (nedværdiges) due to race, skin colour, national or ethnic origin, faith or sexual orientation.
>>
>>55880866
Proof?

Remember, the US has no federal hate speech laws, and things like Slander/Libel are extremely difficult to prove or be awarded damages for.

I know its a joke but since nobody ever actually asks the question "so how the fuck are somalia's freedom of speech laws?"

On the books its pic related but in practice its

> In February 2014, state intelligence detained and beat journalists Mohamed Haji Bare and Ibrahim Mohamed after they aired stories about an explosion that harmed the deputy governor of Lower Shabelle region. In June, radio journalist Yusuf Ahmed Abukar, a critic of both the Shabaab and the Somali government, was killed by a bomb attached to his car. In August, the government shut down Radio Shabelle, arresting 19 journalists. Journalists alleged that the crackdown was retribution for the network’s criticism of President Mohamud, who had recently accused Somalia media outfits of sympathizing with Shabaab. The incident followed the mass arrest of 11 journalists from various news outlets who attended an opposition press conference. In October, gunmen shot and wounded Somali Channel Television journalist Abdirisak Jama, a major critic of the government’s new media bill.

> Nearly all Somalis are Sunni Muslims, but there is a very small Christian community. Both Somalia’s provisional constitution and Puntland’s charter recognize Islam as the official religion, though the constitution does include religious freedom clauses. Anyone accused of apostasy risks execution by the Shabaab, which has also denied religious freedom to moderate Muslims and has caused deep offense among many Somalis by destroying the graves of Sufi saints.

Relative to other countries in practice we are at the top in regards to what an individual can say. There are obvious social obstacles to certain things but the primary objective of free speech laws is the government cannot incarcerate you for views expressed.

The USSR.
>>
>>55880485
It just depends on how you interpret "freedom of speech".

In the colloquial sense, the United States has the worlds most liberal definition of "hate speech", essentially allowing citizens to say anything they want, up to intentionally inciting immediate violence against a person or group. We also have the freedom to desecrate our flag in public. These rights are sometimes restricted in "freer" countries, and often across some very arbitrary lines.

Now, that being said, we have some very fucked up news-media that heavily censor the information we receive, and many of these pussy hate-speech places have much better access to the truth than we do.

They have more freedom of speech than any european country,

Sadly no. Your human rights groups like the ACLU defend free speech to the end. Our human rights groups set up witch hunts and sue and send to jail anyone who says something "offensive" a la Mark Steyn or Ezra Levant

The US First Amendment is near perfect. Thomas Jefferson you wonderful bastard.

Stay based Estonia. The best place I've ever visited in Europe
>>
The other day somebody asked me if I wanted to escape to somewhere else.

I said, yeah, maybe, if I had to escape then that country might be on my list. And then I said that there is no other place in the world that I would rather be. And everybody at the table agreed. They didn't want to be anywhere else in the world but the USA.
>>
>be american
>say you dont like gays
>get fired and hounded by a massive witchhunt

Yeah well poland has better freedom of speech and a ton of other countries too. And yes we can criticize any government.

>The US First Amendment is near perfect. Thomas Jefferson you wonderful bastard.

I cant really explain it, but we went from a weird mix that people are free to say whatever they want, but there will be backlash and consequences. The whole Rob Lowe thing. CEO's fired for saying innapropriate things. ITs like theres freedom of speech, as long as you dont say anything racist, or too conservative, or anything too alarming.
>>
>>55881169

I challenge you to pick up a sign that says "God hates faggot muslims" and walk through the streets without getting arrested.

Maybe one day I'll visit my ancestral homeland.

In the meanwhile, Poland is Bestland.
>>
>>55884700
>>55884819
I think you guys misunderstand what freedom of speech is.
>>
>>55884700

the issue with your example is that isn't the government causing someone to get fired, its another individual choosing to fire that person

can an employer in poland not fire an employee because of their speech?
>>
>>55884700

That's societal backlash, not government. In America, there's pretty much nothing you can say short of a threat that will lead to you getting arrested or hounded by the government.

It's terrifying for me to realize that it seems like free speech has been seriously eroded in the U.S. and yet we still have the most liberal free speech laws in the world.
>>
>>55884819
He still has freedom of speech. The gov't may not censor or limit his speech but people can still go apeshit and yell at him.
>>
>>55885079
Don't worry bro. Us evil conservatives might disagree, but we will fight to the death for your right to say it.

unlikely, you guys take the cake when it comes to that

it is not censored material if that is what you are asking but stores do not have to carry it as an item if they choose not to

the fact you are linking a youtube video of it which is an american company proves my point

I recently received a book catalogue in the mail that had a large number of "how to" books on making explosives. It's actually legal in our country to distribute instructions on making bombs as long as you do not do so with criminal intent.

Goddamn this thread proves how inept yuros are, they don't understand free speech at all.

Are they retarded?
>>
>>55886721
Maybe they just haven't had the experience of driving for a few thousand miles just for fun, and sampling what life is like somewhere else.
>>
>>55886721
Many, many americans make that mistake too. Case in point: Kektin Tarantino.
>>
>>55887011
I'm going to be obtuse about this for reasons, but the person I know who got to dance with Tarantio at one of Hollywood's best awful jewshit's parties makes jokes about how drunk he was to the extent that he couldn't even understand what people were saying.

But that's not all of us.

Nope.

The US legal system is setup to let you do and say what you want, and be sued after.

England meanwhile has a concept of prior restraint.

Germoney is pretty good I heard.

We can publicly deny the holocaust happened and we can publicly use "hate speech" and we can also criticize our government and leaders.

No other developed country in the world has these rights. Only us. It's a doubt edge sword though.
