I don't think this is true actually. Particularly because of of low birth rate being a hot topic right now at the same time this refugee shit is a hot topic right now, I think a lot of Japanese might be more open to a modest population decline and leveling off than a mass importation of foreigners.

Current projections are for sub-100 million by 2050. The population would just level off at some point, it's not like the population would constantly drop until it's 0. Lowered birth rates are something a lot of countries will have to deal with in the future, Japan is just the most prominent example today.
