There are 12 tribes of Israel anon. Only one is Judah. During the Civil war in Israel, the 10 northern tribes were captured by the Assyrians and scattered through Europe, while the two southern tribes, including Judah, were captured by the Babylonians and similarly scattered.
Israel was not entirely comprised of Jews. The Jews were the Kings of Israel, so they often represented the whole, but the civil war proved that they were not all of Judah
