Get a backpack, knife, paracord, fish hooks and line, MREs, lighters and stormproof matches, water filter, a space blanket, some long johns and waterproof pants, jacket, and boonie, good GOOD boots, a radio (ham ideally or local service like CB or FGRS, there's a crank up one with a phone charger and shortwave / am / fm built in), and some kind of good ranged weapon. In your case I advocate a crossbow.
With just that shit you can always flee in a minute or two and at least survive out in the woods or in the urban jungle and still have some chance of knowing what's going on.

I've got an unregistered butterknife buried in my garden. I think my grandfather brought it back from Burma at the end of WW2.
