Here in the UK we have the "shy Tory" effect, where since voting for the Tories gets you shamed and harrassed a lot of the time since they're seen as the 'aristocratic' party, especially if you're a student, poor, or minority, a lot of them will claim to not be voting or to vote something else, so the Tories get constantly lower polls than the actual results show.
