is Liberalism a mental disorder?
>>
for what it's worth, he's not saying "terrorists sprout out of the dirt because of climate change"

it's because climate change affects agriculture which drives poverty rates and hunger through the roof. those are two factors that cause conflict and power struggles.

he should have answered the question directly instead though

No, it's not.

>>55780325
>climate change makes terrorism worse
Northern countries get longer growing seasons, which leads to more food globally, which should lead to "less conflict because less desperation". Except we see that it doesn't, because Islam is just pure cancer regardless of circumstances.

The combination of climate change and despotic dictatorships has led to our current situation.

Yes. It's an economic fetishism just like marxism, but with also a false moral high-ground.
>>
>>55780675
Uh, last time I checked the Middle East has always been a barren wasteland. Like throughout history.

1,000 years ago it wasn't an oasis or some shit. It's a fucking desert.

If you're not a multimillionaire, then voting for Bernie is in your best interest. All these social justice issues are irrelevant when compared to the issue of the rich continually fucking over the poor and middle class.

that is the goal of social justice.

see the entire history of Marxism.
>>
>>55780325
Poverty doesn't create terrorism. The Bolivians aren't throwing acid at the faces of women who want to go to school.
>>
>>55781264
The fertile crescent is not nearly the paradise many westerners who took Classical Civ 101 seem to believe. It's just a part of the desert where crops can potentially sort of grow as compared to the literal dusty wastes that surround it. Compared to almost anywhere else that could be considered "fertile" it is pretty low on the scale.
>>
>>55780325
It's not in itself a mental disorder, but it gives way to them, as they love denying reality in favor of unrealistic delusions as much as possible.
>>
>>55780675
>>55780610
Terrorism has nothing to do with poverty, except that if you're too poor, you can't afford to be terrorist. Most terrorists are comfortably middle-class boys, with a fair number of rich ones in the mix.

If you were hungry and had $5, would you buy some food or try to save up enough for a bomb?
>>
>>55781607
The end result of unregulated capitalism is the same.
I don't support social justice tier equality of outcome, I support the idea of equality of opportunity. While that will never be possible, it would certainly be nice to give people born into poverty the possibility of being able to afford an education and make something of themselves.
>>
>>55781425

Socialism has never worked. It's time to stop being envious of other people's stuff.
>>
>>55781795

>>
>>55781865
It's not about me being envious of other peoples stuff. I'm doing perfectly fine. It's about the people born into broken homes who are forced to either work awful jobs for slave wages, or get hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt for the possibility of a slightly better life.

Give the poor the opportunity to make something of themselves. If they fuck that chance up, let them deal with the consequences.
>>
>>55780399
>warming planet affects agriculture negatively

You're an illiterate fuck. Pretty much all plant life on the planet...hell, all LIFE on the planet...does better in warmer weather.

And plants fucking love CO2 since they construct themselves out of the carbon. We could not fully account for the increase in crop yields over the 20th century until we factored in the rising CO2 level. (Seriously. There are papers about this.)

Those gigantic dinosaurs you see in museums? They existed when the planet was FUCKING TROPICAL.

Even in the brief time span of recorded human history we consistently see:
Warm periods = good crop yields
Cold periods = crop failure

If Bernie Sanders believes this shit you're spouting then hie is #AntiScience and a #Denier and has no business being president. I would rather have that creation museum guy because at least he understands the food chain and carbon cycle.

minimum wage isn't even close to slave wage, if you want that then hire some illegals working at 3 an hour or less.

they went into debt by choice because for some reason they thought it was a good idea to get a gender studies degree at yale.

>If they fuck that chance up, let them deal with the consequences.
They already have the chance. They fuck up. What you see now is them dealing with the consequences.

and that's why he won't win the nomination.

>>
>>55782440
What does socialism have to do with this? I'm suggesting that people born into poverty should have a reasonable chance of being able to make it if they put in the work. Also, those that do end up working the low level jobs should still be earning enough money to be able to afford a home, food, and transportation, without having to work for 60+ hours a week. The money shouldn't come from the poor, it should come from the rich, and those tax breaks and loopholes need to be done away with.

The world can not run without poor people. Either the poor people will be in our country working or the jobs go overseas.

The rich already avoid as much tax as possible and massive tax increases on the rich will either simply stop them working as hard or make them take their business overseas.

There is nothing stopping your poor little nigger children from rising up from the ghetto except their stupid decisions

Op is right. The middle east has only been a desert for the last couple years, not thousands of years like some would say, and the at coincides with the growth of terrorism.

Look at other places like the Nevada, Arizona, Utah, new Mexico, and you'll see events like the Paris attack have been hopping on a near monthly basis.

Obviously climate change is the really issue guys.

ISIS soldiers don't work for free. Contrary to what the media would have you believe, most of them aren't doing it for the virgins. They get paid just like anyone else, and suicide bombers do it because their families get a bigger payout than they'd make working their entire life.

Just to point out, Climate Change and freak weather played a crucial role in the Syrian uprising and subsequent civil war.

Basically there was a massive drought in Syria for the years prior to the uprising, (2009-11) which forced more religious, socially conservative, Sunni Syrians to move from their farms into the cities. This bloc of people were amongst the first to start the protests against Assad, citing the lack of government aid in the drought as one of their main greivances.
>>
>>55785037

the climate's been changing since the beginning of time... anyway, can that explain any of the other 'uprisings'? or do we just take your word that it was definitely man-made climate change that specifically caused a 'massive drought' in Syria during this time frame?

Regimes rise and fall, anon.

The weather was incidental.

The civil war was merely complete.
