Trump's VP will be the most important decision of his life, it will determine whether or not the CIA can take him out. He needs to select someone even more anti-establishment than himself. The VP pick won't be any of the current candidates.

I think Rand is the best bet in order to pick up moderates and those on the fence.

Most importantly, the GOP needs to not alienate the libertarian base like they did in 2012 when they fucked Ron Paul in Tampa Bay. I think Trump would be bright enough not to let this happen.

Incidentally, he seems to be warming up to Rand (he called out Fiorino for interrupting Rand in the last debate.

Is it commonplace or the norm to pick people who are also running for president as VP?

I was really thinking Trump would go a more traditional way and pick some senator or representative who is not running to be his VP, like the time he approached Jeff Sessions to flesh out his immigration policy.

He really went after him for not being a real conservative in the first couple of debates
>>

the libertarian base is traditionally very small, all smart Ron Paul supporters are now nationalist race realist Trumpians. selecting Rand to get a 5% or so libertarian vote is retarded anyway since libertarians are so wonky and disagreeable that plenty will abstain from voting for a "statist", and most of them don't even like Rand anymore anyway. Plus the best part of Rand (anti-neocon stuff), Trump does better and with more balls.

>>
>>55778259
I don't think so, and you're correct. If Cuban is going to rearrange his whole life, VP isn't what he'll do it for.
>>
He should pick Nevada governor Brian Sandoval. He needs someone with actual government experience to balance the ticket. Sandoval is an American born Hispanic, and yes, his parents came here legally. He is in favor of the wall and of deporting illegals. This is important because by having a Hispanic on the ticket, it takes away the "Trump hates brown people" attack the Democrats have been using while also keeping his promise to secure the border. He also opposes amnesty.

Governor Sandoval is a conservative Catholic family man. He's also been a Federal judge, Attorney General, and chaired the Nevada Gaming Commission, which shows he can resist corruption. He has an 'A' rating with the NRA and is in favor of the death penalty.

Cruz for the Supreme Court would be interesting in that he would have to be confirmed by the Senate. Usually the Senate loves to rub the back of any senator up for a position like this so that if they're ever up for it, they'll have the Senate's support too. But most of the Senate, including Republicans, hate Cruz on a personal level. I wouldn't be surprised if they drug him back and forth through the mud during confirmation hearings and you can bet his fellow members of the Senate have plenty of mud to drag him through. If he wants to be on the court, he should retire from the Senate when his current term is up, lay low and then wait to be appointed as one of Trump's second term picks. If Trump wins in 2016 and 2020, he will have at least four Supreme Court picks so Cruz wouldn't need to be the first one.
>>
>>55778856
The VP can not be from the same state, Ivanka is not eligible.

Not a problem. Chaney and Bush were both from Texas so Chaney just said "I'm from Wyoming" and that was the end of it. He even continued to file taxes in Texas as a Texas resident.

Ivanka surely has homes in other states. There are plenty of reasons not to pick her but being a New Yorker isn't one of them.

Carson or Webb would be the best choice. Carson would bring in some black votes. Webb would bring in some moderate democrat votes.

That being said, it really isn't that important because we're talking about Trump here. Trump is the Lone Ranger, and his VP is going to be about as inconsequential as Tonto.

Trump/Sanders

Just for sheer absurdity. Sanders would wholeheartedly accept, predicting this move would destroy trumps campaign, but the unstoppable force of trump would prevail (while losing some old voters (not voting: -1gop) but stealing some dimwitted potheads/free college and healthcare votes (sswitching sides: -1dnc +1gop)). Trump will claim this is to add balance to the executive branch while remaining strong. The news coverage couldn't stop reporting on this for a long time.

Trump then sets a precedent to choose the runner up of the other party as vp, ushering in a new age and tactics of the political system.

His war record and no-nonsense take on national security will help solidify support from the Right.

His senate record and history of working with people on both sides of the aisle will appeal to moderates and independent voters.

Being a Democrat could help drain votes from discouraged White male Democrats.

Most importantly he serves as a perfect foil for Trump. Look at every solid presidency in American history - the best administrations have always struck a balance between extremes, with one person being the charismatic, boisterous, firebrand and the other being the cooler-headed straight man getting shit done behind the scenes.

The presidency is a double-act - it works best when you've got contrasting personalities.

Both my mom and I laughed out loud at this. Fuck her.

Rand's problem is that he's got all of his dad's politics, but only a fraction of his experience, charisma, and integrity.

He's a poor substitute for Ron and unfortunately for his political ambitions, it really shows.

It'll be Trump or it'll be Trump/Trump.

I think he has been laying down the groundworks to announce Ivanka as his VP, I don't think Trump even really wants one and he certainly wouldn't want one of the other bumbling presidential candidates by his side with their differing views. You're going to lover her.

The opposite is really true. Rand is much, much better at putting the ideology into practical legal forms that are genuinely electable. He also has worked harder in the Senate than any other running candidate and has more national support now than Ron Paul ever had.

trump is a false flag. U /pol/acks go on and on about intelligence to justify the superiority of whites yet you idiots take this guy seriously. Starting to wonder if the shills finally figured out how to manipulate annonymous boards like they do other media

Trump shows just how retarded the bulk of Americans have become
>>
>>55783088
Can you blame since out of all the other candidates Trump is the only one with any sanity that is how bad they are
>>
>>55783088
Yeah, because Europe is doing so well....
>>
>>55775262
Best he can hope for is to be Carson's or Rubio's VP.
>>
>>55782804
Biden dropped out of the race in 2008 and still ended up VP.
>>
>>55784552
Why would Trump select a democrat, that would be dumb as fuck. Also the republican party wouldn't allow it.
>>
>>55782675
No, Trump will definitely choose an experienced politician to show him the ropes.
>>
>>55780284
That was back in August when news sites were still putting Trump coverage in the entertainment section. He's a politician, he can say something like "At the time I didn't know enough about Trump's experience beyond real estate. Now that we've talked and I've looked into his background, I see a man with a long history of accomplishment in many different endeavors." Spin is something politicians never have a shortage of.

She needs a higher office. If she can become a Senator from Utah, there's no question she'll eventually be on a presidential ticket. Governor would be even better though that might be too much to ask in Utah. Either way, she's really young so she'll have plenty of time to climb the ladder.

>a democrat

Webb was the right-most Dem on the stage in the first debate, and he's now running as an independent. I would entertain the fantasy he would be a Trump VP, but I'm not entirely sure that GOP would allow it either. Possibly, like 50/50 private consultation to confirm.
>>
>>55785896
Why would you run with Webb when you can run with Katrina. Every time the left attacks Katrina, Trump will look good defending her. Besides how the fuck is the media going to run hit pieces on a single black mother.

Imagine if he had a minority woman VP though, the left would be so buttblasted

I had my hopes up for Webb, but he came across as a token Democrat during the first debate.

Palin didn't sink McCain.

She was the only thing that stopped it from being a total landslide in Obama's favor.

>>55777139
Which is weird because she is really intelligent when it comes to business practices, even if she is a total cunt who got where she is through trashy means.

Deceptively intelligent, that one.

Trump however does as he feels, including reality TV appearances. If you have that much success, why the fuck not do what you want?

>2016 election night
>Bernie on stage giving his concession speech to Trump
>starts shilling about inequality, billionaires etc
>*glass shatters*
>Stone Cold marches out, gets on stage staring Bernie down in silence
>out of nowhere Bernie gets a Stone Cold Stunner
>Bernie left writhing in pain on the floor
>two beer cans fly out of the crowd, Stone Cold chugs them down before marching out

it's the only reasonable choice
