We had a pretty good idea of where the russian minefields were though, and stayed the hell away from those areas. The biggest problem for us were legacy IED's that had been so long in the ground we couldn't spot them with our eyes. We hit one of those in the MRAP one day, but luckily only the detonator went off, the main charge caught fire and we backed the fuck away.
Another time we had fun when the scout boys casually dropped off an armed but unexploded 40mm grenade at our place. The fuckers had even kicked it and shit, we had to shut down the entire camp for a few hours until we could safely detonate it on the spot. Those idiots were lucky to be alive, those grenades are the most touch sensitive shit there is.

depends, most Strikers or LAV,s didnt have good shaped hulls to deflect blast, also most had aluminum armor. we didn't learn that lesson until about 2008 when MRAPS became a thing, our graveyard on base had plenty of destroyed LAVS.
