Because it makes it harder for everyone to get a job and it forces me to pay for more insurance out of the ass.

Because it does nothing for anyone in the long term and makes things worse. You want to improve the average of the average person's paycheck? Focus on making more jobs so that employers start paying more to fill those positions. Raising the min wage just devalues anyone's paycheck who isn't on minimum wage and rises the prices of everything via inflation. Everyone gets poorer, especially those on minimum wage who just come back saying
