The only way to get Islam under control, other than a full scale genocide, is to start backing secular dictators in the region.

We should have sided with Saddam and the rest of the baathists over the royal families of the gulf states back in the 80's.
>>
>>55649023
This. Saddam kept his government secular and had zero tolerance for Islamic radicalism. He was terrible to his own people, absolutely, but the middle east will not get a perfect leader anytime soon. Right now the best leader is the one who keeps the peace.

these dictators did not mind exporting terrorism, which they did all the time. Just as long as the trail could not lead back to them.

The gulf kingdoms still do it, and we don't do shit about it. We should have overthrown the gulf kingdoms.
>>
it's a lose lose situation, aeverybody hatess you if you try to remove a dictator and everyone hates you if you support them. I don't give a shit anymore, Leftists are the problem imo. They seem to be fundamentally anti west no matter what the alternative is, so you always lose with them.
>>
>>55648228
They did, but it turns out a large population of poor, unemployed young people would rather go out to riot on the streets and vote in random-ass Sheikhs rather than doing basically anything else.

saddam was responsible for 9-11 goys

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNnnn

Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z!

Hey, at least you guys have some moderate, secular friends in there left, right?

I think this guy owns Fox News btw, what a patriot!
>>
The Democrats I know on FB like to blame this all on Bush because he removed Saddam.

Though do you really think Obama was going to set Saddam go untouched once the CIA Spring started?

Saddam was likely to have faced protests and insurrectionists. Which would have lead Obama and Hillary to start an air campaign to help out the "moderate rebels". Leading to Saddam falling or losing control of most of his country.

So in the end the situation would be more or less the same.

Saddam did nothing wrong. Muslims prove this over and over again. They need leaders like Saddam. He absolutely did nothing excessive beyond what is necessary to rule them.
>>
>>55649647
>He was terrible to his own people

Only because they were Shi'ites who wanted to overthrow him and install a Muslim theocracy like in Iran.

Still, the terrorism these guy exported had an almost lovable, James Bond Villain, quality to it in it's absurdity. Gaddafi allied with Chicago's El Rukn black gang to start a domestic war in America and saw himself as a revolutionary - all completely unrealistic and nowhere near as dangerous as Islamic groups.

Gaddafi was Reagan's "Mad Dog of the Middle East" complete with a "Line of Death" in the sea off Libya. Great stuff. In the end, these guys kept the Islamists controlled with an iron fist and we should be grooming new Gaddafis and Saddams to take over the show.
>>
>>55648228
We could've handled this if we had just stayed. We were the stabilizing power.

I'd rather just provide some intel and a couple billion dollars a year to a secular dictator in these countries than have thousands of our soldiers occupy these shitholes for several generations until these muslims grow up.

All Korans in the Middle East should be burned and replaced with this tome of wisdom.

Iraq under Saddam was the country that kept the Shias (Iran) and Sunnis (Saudi Arabia) in check.

Once he was removed, the country became a free-for-all for both sides, with Wahhabi entities like al-Qaeda and ISIS eventually filling the void and establishing centers for their campaigns, with the help of Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

Invading Iraq was the worst foreign policy mistake in modern history, and we will continue feeling its consequences for decades to come.
