Well, I can explain the mindset at least... Liberals are brought up to everything as black and white, good and evil. Evil is white, male, Christian, cis, straight, and privileged. Good is anything that can be seen as the opposite. So if you're brown, Muslim, and a refugee, that somehow immediately equals good regardless if they're a rapist, terrorist, paedophile, someone that throws gays off roofs, or a deadbeat that punches their twenty wives daily.
