I started dating this thin light skinned black girl that is thin and can pass for mixed Brazilian, I think one of her grandparents were White. Every now and then we go to the clubs together, we got a friend gives us a free VIP table and she brings friends and I bring a friend or two. However these are the scary all Black clubs. A big part of why I carry a 1911 is the weight. Pushing 180-220 grains at 1400 fps produces a lot of kinetic energy. All that mass helps reduce felt recoil and improve time on follow up shots when you're using big, hot, full-house 10mm loads.
The reduced magazine size is also a benefit in my eyes. I want a full sized pistol, but I also want to conceal. My 1911 with slim grips is barely 1.25 inches thick because its a single stack.
The 1911 fits my needs: I want a gun with an enormous amount of power, high accuracy, the ability to make fast follow ups, and a high degree of conceivability. Show me another gun I can conceal under a t-shirt in the middle of summer OWB that fits that set of requirements.

You seem to be hung up on bullets as if they only feature they have is the diameter. Ammo companies don't just randomly dig out the tips of bullets to create hollow points, all of those projectiles are specifically engineered for certain performance. That being said

is not necessarily correct. The projectiles they use are designed for .40, so once you reach that velocity window they will perform as designed. If you exceed that velocity, firstly you have a chance of the projectile failing, but even if it doesn't you aren't guaranteed significantly greater penetration or expansion, as can be observed from looking at FBI spec tests.
