The general sentiment is difficult to describe. All the people that I know in private are angry about the current refugee policy. But according to opinion polls a lot of people still seem to support the "refugees welcome" crap. Otherwise social democrats, greens and the commie party would have plummeted by now. Instead it's just the CDU that is losing voters, lefties have even gained some percentage points. Politics are rarely discussed here in the open between people. So it's difficult to tell who supports what and why.
