The lung cancer sucks but it's not fixable on a small time scale. Overall life expectancy is still growing in China but the pm2.5 is going to be a while before it's fixed.
It has improved over the past few years though due to more efforts to curb it. It's just impossible to fix in a short amount of time without killing the economy completely.
