pretty much this, except assimilation is actually degrading.
They used to assimilate pretty well, and other than beer and pork they were pretty much at home here, but in the past 5 years (?) we have been getting a slowly increasing number of new muslim migrants that do not assimilate quite so fast, if at all.
I now regularly see two muslim families whose women always wear head-to-toe covers.
