Former James Bond actor Roger Moore is opposed to the re-imagining of James Bond as female, black, or a gay man, claiming ‘political correctness’ shouldn’t be pandered to.
“I have heard people talk about how there should be a lady Bond or a gay Bond. But they wouldn’t be Bond for the simple reason that wasn’t what Ian Fleming wrote, Moore told The Daily Mail. “It is not about being homophobic or, for that matter, racist – it is simply about being true to the character.”
Moore also recently said: “A few years ago, I said that Cuba Gooding Jnr would make an excellent Bond, but it was a joke! Although James may have been played by a Scot, a Welshman and an Irishman, I think he should be ‘English-English.'”
Didn't fight a Revolution just to be lectured on what sort of movies we can watch, now did we?
Don't give me that Roger, don't you goys know you can stay true to character even if you make them a gay woman? Don't you know about lady Thor? Come on it's 2015.
Pretty rich coming from the guy who played the campiest bond in history. He's right though.

>campiest bond
Ian wrote Bond as Scottish desu.
>>55576570
Many campy scenes in the Brosnan bond movies.

Good scene. The special effects were bad, but the fight scene and the angst between 006 and 007 was excellent
Connery will stay the only true bond for eternity

Dalton was based as fuck.
It's just done to keep poc from developing characters and plotlines that they develop themselves, so the studios can contunue to be lazy, unimaginative and wealthy.

I always thought we was a homo. He's right though, but the best bond was Connery. Scot-Bond trumps all.
>>55574532
Why is this even an issue . . .he is right!
>>55576570
>insults brosnan
Well I'm going to have to kill you now.
>for England James?
No. For me.
>>55574532
Same shit with Doctor Who.
Can Asa Butterfield play Jim in the next Huckleberry Finn adaptation?
>>55578679
How about Asa Coon?
>>55574532
So, a man is not allowed to have his own opinion now?
Yet you flock to the bad boys who set their own rules, and call them "alphas."

>I always thought we was a homo
Roger Moore is very much a Hetero. I saw him at a charity gig once and he was pissed up being interviewed by a female reporter, he just looked at her and slurred "what lovely eyes you have" . .. .she was speechless and didn't know where to look. Funny as fuck!
>>55574532
wow wake up grandpa!
its 2015!!!
>>55574532
ROGER, NO!
>>55574532
For posterity, here is what Ian Fleming wanted James Bond to look like when he wrote his novel.
>There are people here who don't like Roger Moore's Bond
Do you niggers even have fun?
>>55579435
A-and your name, Sir?
P-pol...
J-James Pol.
I'll bet 20 Shekels on the Red.
>>55579435
Ian Fleming didn't like Sean Connery because he was prole.
>>55579435
Basically Christopher Lee PBUH

View to a Kill and Spy Who Loved Me are probably my favorite Bond films.
Contrast this with Skyfall, a blathering, super-serious mess where the actors all think the script is someething monumental and worthwhile. It's like in The Dark Knight Rises where the police are all locked in the sewer simultaneously and all the character actors are literally going for Oscars with the shit script.
omg muh judi dench, muh big empty scottish house, such a deep movie, i love adele
Even Roger's Moore worst films (like Moonraker) are far better than Skyfall. Haven't seen Spectre but apparently it is shit.
>>55579621
Looks more like Tony Benn.
>>55579779
You should see it. They try to do the serious thing again but with an even more contrived revenge plot. There is a throwback to some of the old films. The opening scene is like the parade chase in thunderball and there is a train fight and romance which is just like from Russia with love. There are a few other moments like that I can't remember.
I enjoyed it but you sound like you would grind your teeth to ash so maybe don't see it.
>>55579779
>hating Judi Dench
she was the most worthwhile thing about Craigbond.
even Craig himself wasnt bad, its just the overall tone was way too serious
>>55576570
>hating based moore
>mfw I thought Roger Moore died years ago.
I agree with him.
>>55576376
Moore was one of the best bonds
Well, he's right. Can you imagine creating a straight, white, male character only for Hollywood to adapt him as a taosexual, genderfluid negro?
>>55580544
>only for Hollywood to adapt him as a taosexual, genderfluid negro?
Please don't say that . .. . America is likely to do it!
>>55580618
sorry
>>55580459
>all the bond actors are still alive
hadn't really realized that
>>55580878
I'm pretty sure David Niven has been dead for a while.

It will be a sad day when we lose that based motherfucker.

>>55574532
but bond starring in a cheap battlestar galacta rip-off in which he shoots jaws with a laser gun was totally what fleming had in mind
>>55581732
It was fun at least, and the shit was made following the success of Star Wars. It's not like they made a whole Space-Bond Trilogy or anything.
Roger Moore was one of the best Bond actors. His character had charm and his smugness and priceless puns made him stand out.
Based to this day.
