In all honesty, I've never been to either site. Ok, I tried reddit once, but the navigation through "subreddits" was atrocious.
That said, i started out gung-ho for Rand. Then, Trump comes along and blows my fucking mind. "Build the wall", "deport illegals", "make America great again" were music to my ears.
Then, I realized that wothout substance, catch-phrases were empty promises. As the "debates" continued, I noticed Trump's slogans slowly turned into rhetoric. The "debates" were basically "Jerry Springer: The Political Edition" reality shows, with Trump as the biggest shit-slinger. And then the question dawned on me: what happens with this guy actually goes into a real debate?
We saw the beginning of this on Tuesday. You can say what you want about "Trump was "technically" right on TPP/China." The fact of the matter is, if HE knew he was technically right, why didn't HE defend himself after Rand called him on his blunder? Instead, the moderators stood up for him foing damage control.
You can give him all the benefit of the doubt you want. Time is going to tell, and as the substance in these debates become more focused on actual politics and less about ad hominem, I have a feeling Trump is going to become more and more exposed. As much as I would like to believe Trump could make America great again, I get the strong feeling that he's nothing but a bunch of hot air.
