Neither my wife nor myself own cell phones.
We have an older unit in the car in case we have to call 911, but it is not activated on a service plan and the battery is left outside of the phone.
We have HTs for communications within about 5 or so mile radius and that's all we seem to ever need. We also have HTs with APRS capability but they are larger.
People who need cell phones are special snowflakes.
