The CCSD is turning into one of the better school districts in the nation too. Sure there's a huge teacher shortage but at least they have 1000s of openings. It's not like they aren't hiring.

This is because Las Vegas is full of transients and transplants. No one is genuinely from Las Vegas or has any pride to having grown up there. There is absolutely no sense of community. The city is sprawling suburbs and the only industry is just a giant tourist trap. The attitude of most people there is that they're only interaction with you is just so they get paid.

Lived there 4 years. Has some upsides like 24 hour access, cheap living, and lots of things to do. That being said I had my home broken into twice at my first apartment, had to evacuate my second apartment because of a police shoot out, and had my car rummaged through multiple times (drive a convertible and don't want my top slashed). Make sure when you compare crime rates you include North Las Vegas.

Part of that court's ruling, however, is that the structure has to be torn down.
