I think a woman should be allowed to choose. Her body. Plus, most of the time, the man is an idiotic moron who just leaves. No point in bringing the kid into the world without a dad.

I used to think that until I became a parent. Going through a pregnancy, watching the child develop through it's different stages and seeing/feeling move around it well before it is born changed my perspective.
I think people need to make their own choices, but I think it's also something that would be forever on your conscience. Deciding to take a life is a very big decision.
The second it stops being an efficient way to control nigger populations is the second I stop supporting it.

Abortion is a political football that will be mostly extinct in a decade. There have been huge advancements lately in blood testing. Tests that once needed two doctors appointments and a hospital lab to conduct are now being shifted to finger pricks at drug stores. It's believed that this miniaturization of blood testing will continue and in about a decade most people will have a device at home to test their blood weekly. There are many costly health conditions that can be cheaply corrected if they're detected early. Insurance companies will give the devices away for free on the condition they they're used at least weekly (daily would be better).
What does that have to do with abortion? Blood tests can detect the increase in hormones after implantation, usually within a few days. So in the worst case scenario, a woman doing her routine weekly blood test (which only takes a few seconds and is just a finger prick) would only be two weeks pregnant when she found out. At two weeks it's a tiny clump of cells and can easily be aborted through a take at home pill. In most cases they'd know in less than a week since implantation.
Sure, a few of the most absolutists will have a problem with this but won't be able to stop it. Pregnancy will become something very easy to avoid, making the need for abortion past the first month very rare. Trying to fight against "abortion" of a two week old clump of cells is going to be much harder than it is when abortions routinely happen at six months like they do now. They can pass laws banning abortion after the first trimester and have almost no affect since very few unwanted pregnancies will get that far.
It's the murder of an innocent human life. Should be totally illegal unless the mother's life is in danger.

So yes, in cases of rape abortion is permissible, but the "her body argument" holds absolutely no weight if the women had concencensual sex.
Additionally, the "her body argument" starts falling apart when you consider say a 6 month old in the fetus, a new-born, or even a 2 year old. All require the constant care of the mother in order to survive. But does the mother have no obligation to care for this human being because "it's her body?"
I'm not saying abortions should be illegal. There's over 1.2 million abortions in the USA every year. These people are idiots and I'm more than happy they're killing at least some of their offspring. But there's absolutely no way to argue that abortion is morally permissible without some serious mental gymnastics.

Abortion violates basic human rights and is heavily promoted because women feel they should just kill fetuses because they're lazy and selfish. And don't bring up scientific research, we can do many other things to do the same research.

Of course and I doubt they'll change that view one bit. But they're the extreme just like the nut bags who think abortion at nine months is ok as long as the baby is still inside the mother. Most people are somewhere between the two extremes. Two weeks is so close to the beginning of pregnancy that other than the few "sperm meets the egg" nutters, most would be fine with terminating the pregnancy at that point. And even if they're not, the ability to medically induce the end of the pregnancy at two weeks means it can be done at home without medical supervision. They won't be able to make it illegal and they won't be able to bomb or harass people like they can do now with clinics.

Rather than "her body", I think it's " her life". Getting pregnant at a young age messes her chances of... Pretty much everything: marriage, education, wealth.
I think the only men who could judge this to some extent are the ones willing to settle the down with the mother of their unwanted child. And "consensual sex" implies equal responsibility from both the man and the woman.
Childbearing is the responsibility that accompanies making love. Utilities like abortion and contraceptives absolve adults of this responsibility and cheapens the act of sex. It's not that "every sperm is sacred," it's that if you stick your dick in someone and don't plan on marrying them if your condom fails, you shouldn't have had sex with them in the first place. Sex is an intimate act, and one of the reasons society has become so poisoned and decadent is because we have embraced sexuality to the point of commercialization. It no longer holds any value as a method of creating human life; today, sex is merely seen as a hedonistic method of pleasure-seeking and has lost all of its wonder and intimacy.
You should hold your lover to the same value that you do your mother, for all the potential they have in carrying on your legacy as a living human being. Family values are incredibly important, and if you have sired a bastard, partaken in casual sex, or have ever had a "friends-with-benefits" relationship with someone, you are a lazy, decadent, irresponsible degenerate. I would recommend you stop watching porn, too, but I know that stance would be lost on most people here.
