I don't think a lot of people understand exactly what the Humanities entail and just group all the garbage under it. Most of it is garbage though or rather a lot of it has BECOME garbage, but they're probably not thinking about Law and Economics and such kinds of studies that have somewhat more practical applications.
I think bottom line though, they get way too much fucking money. I used to work part time in a college installing new tech equipment to classrooms, and while the sciences were stuck with old equipment all the humanities shitheads were getting brand new expensive projectors and computers. For fucks sake my math professor was still using transparencies and overhead projectors but the English dept's building was equipped with new laptops and projectors for almost every single room. The chemistry dept didn't get shit from us. Those English professors don't need all that shit more than the other depts, no way in hell.
