Why do people want socialism when capitalism made America the greatest country in the world?
1) Because they're losers and therefore think losers should have the same lifestyle as those who work hard everyday.
2) Because they don't understand much about economy, society, history, etc.
3) Because their politic views are based on feelings, not rational logic. They think no one should feel sad, no one should be hurt, offended, etc.
4) Because they think being socialist makes them special and therefore their existance is validated.

not true. In pure capitalism a monopoly occurs only when you're able to provide the best service on the market at a low price and put your competition out of business. Which is not a bad monopoly because we get the best service at a low price, what's not to like?
The only other way would be for someone to somehow gain control over the world's entire supply of a resource which is highly unlikely to say the least.
Capitalistic monopolies are either good for the consumer (and when the company starts exploiting their position there's nothing stopping their competition from reemerging) or extremely unlikely to happen. All other monopolies are caused by market regulation mandated by the state

Then it would mean that the higher quality product isn't needed by the society or, at the very least, not needed at the price it's being offered.
If your product is good enough, there will be people willing to pay for it. People still buy Rolls Royces even though they can get a shittier Fiat for a fraction of the cost, Louis Vuitton is doing just fine despite H&M offering lower quality service at a very low price

Friedman brought up a good point about monopolies being very rare without government intervention. IIRC the two examples he came up with were the NYSE and that one diamond company. NYSE isn't really a monopoly anymore, though.

The only monopoly possible in free market is natural monopoly - if one player deliberately sales at less that cost to destroy competition - which is very risky.
All other variations of monopoly are there because of state, it's regulation and taxes.
