Possible. But do not underestimate the pressure of japanese culture. Japan tolerates other cultures, and everyone is welcome to stay here if they have marketable skills to find a job here. But don't expect japan to accomedate your culture. You live by japanese rules, outside of tokyo you'll have a hard time not speaking japanese. Best example: Islam. There is barely any in japan. Why? Only two mosques, building new ones is forbidden. No public parying to Allah, no proselytizing to muslim faith. It doesn't fit into japanese culture, so it isn't allowed in public.
