In University I'm required to take an "Integrated Social Sciences" course. This is basically your typical "Liberal Indoctrination 101" class.
My professor is this pretty 30something year old white woman who's actually pretty smart and really accepting of alternative opinions. I'm one of her favorite students because I actually participate in class and respectfully present alternative points of view, which she likes because it makes class more interesting.
Anyways, we have a major project due tomorrow and I'm writing about the crippling effect of identity politics on the Democratic Party. The original assignment was some pathetic social media bullshit tweeting/posting about what we learned in class, but I couldn't stoop that low. I asked to write an essay instead and she was very accepting of the idea. However, I think I might have gone a bit off the deep end.

OP: When you write an essay your first sentence has to be great. You want to reel the reader in so they know they are going to be reading something interesting. Second of all, you don't want to make all of your points in the intro paragraph. The introductory paragraph is meant to outline your thesis and briefly sketch out what points you will be discussing within the paragraphs that follow.
As a further critique, it's a fallacy to fully conflate the modern Left with the Democratic Party. Many of these "progressive" SJW loonies may align themselves with the party, but there are many Democrats who are not SJWs. I would use specific examples from the Democratic platform like pandering on equal pay, abortion, "Black Lives Matter" during the DNC debates, etc.
