They are just scams to have you send money. The person you are talking too is likely a man. Once they hook you they will ask for money to buy a ticket and sort a visa, and you will never see them again. Or they will keep milking you.
Commonly it is to come visit you, then a sudden death or illness in the family, and they need money and can't come, then an abusive ex shows up... and more drama always asking you for help and saying they love you.
Typically it is targeted at 25-45 year old white men with money, and a sad lonely perma virgin types who are desperate for companionship and believe a 10/10 Russian model wants you for who you are....

Life in country X is shit compared to country Y, so girl from country X moves to country Y. Most countries won't just allow you to move right over for no reason, though, so the easiest way is by marriage. You need to find someone in your target country, and then marry them, and live for a few years so that it seems (or becomes) legitimate. Then you can get tested to stay there permanently.
It's not a scam, lots of older guys have thai wives in some parts of sweden, they've even got their own thai sub-community or whatever, where they talk. But yeah, basically, something like thailand is really really shit. It doesn't matter if you're halfway pretty, or even 9/10, if you live in a shit country like that your chances are rather slim. So, in comparison, your average westerner (certainly in a nordic country) is like a really rich person in thailand. The houses we have here are of infinitely higher standard, our wages are way higher (costs as well, but not as much), services provided are worlds better, pretty much anything you'd like is better in a western country (especially the more socialist ones, obviously).
Russia is pretty shit compared to a lot of western european countries (nordic countries, germany and the netherlands - the rest of the "west" is a bit hit and miss depending on your exact location), so it would make sense that someone would want to move here. Marriage is the easiest way. Something like a south asian country is REALLY shit compared to western europe, so they would really have a big incentive to want to move here - even if they found a semi-well off man in their own country, he couldn't provide even half as much as your average wageslave in the west.
Women don't care much about the looks of men anyway, so it's a decent trade for most of them.
