If a man's wife goes missing after two weeks, should police be allowed to search their homes? After all, most wives who go missing are done in by their husbands.

Or do you believe the government is stepping too far?

Except that's not the case at all. Please provide evidence that supports this assertion.

Sure, if there's sufficient circumstantial evidence to allow it - as in any missing persons case

No. Get a warrant, go through the the god damned process. It's there just for this reason.

That's what I mean. If your wife goes missing for a while, they should be able to serve you a warrant. Considering the likely scenario (statistically) is that you killed her, no stone left unturned here.

Well yes of course. If you're looking for something you start zero metres from where it normally is and work out, you don't just start at some arbitrary point.
>>
Depends. If they've been missing for weeks and someone else reports it, thats sketchy. If he reports it in a reasonable timeframe, get a fucking warrant.

That's not most, that's called a minority. 1 in 4 is insufficient. That means that in 75% of cases it would be a waste of time, money, and you would be harassing a grieving spouse.

Only if there is sufficient evidence to get a warrant and something showing that the husband is a suspect should it be done.

What the fuck is this bullshit? Unless you know for a fact that someone's life is in danger and can prove it, you don't have the right to search anyone's home. And what if a man goes missing? Can you search the woman's home?

Under the legal principle of "bitches be crazy" yes

that doesn't sound very progressive anon

Depends on what evidence is available at the time. It's pretty typical for Police to be suspicious of people who were close to the one who is missing.

get a warrant you fat fuck
