Alright, what form of minarchism do you believe to be the best? I can tell you that minarchism certainly didn't work in America when the Articles of Confederation were still about. I can tell you that minarchism certainly isn't working for Africa right now. I can tell you that the minarchism that you're most accustomed to wanting (due to being an American) won't ever work because the 14th Amendment exists.

I can't give you back your money, I spent it.

I believe that all drugs should not be legalised (not to be confused with decriminalised), not because of the effects that it would have on the user-- each to their own-- but the effects that it would have on other people.

Example: Drinking and driving.
Another example: Unwanted secondhand smoking (cigarettes, cannabis, etc)

Tell me why my perspective is bad.

>Fate is a worthless belief unless you believe you can use it to predict the future

Fate is more of a passive belief in the future, really. Whatever happens, happens. There is no other way a thing could have happened -- else it wouldn't be fate.

It's basically tautological, and thus, nonsensical.
>>
>>55444251
>You can never be too sure of anything
that's not a case for why it is a "bad reason" to believe the holocaust happened, unless the chances of the jews hijacking everything are as good or greater than the chances that it really did happen
>>
>>55444799
There's no difference between legalization and decriminalization from a purely practical standpoint. If you have a law and you don't enforce it, it's like you don't even have a law. Decriminalize cannabis and people will smoke it in the streets. In their homes. Near you. Legalize it and they'll do the same thing.

>>55444869
Fate implies that a divergence from a perceived future is impossible - that there is only one way forward. That's nonsense when you consider that people have the ability to make choices. And even though those choices might bring you to the same place (or same perceived place), it's fucking stupid to call that fate. Because the way the person got there was different.

>>55444969
Okay, how about this: it's a bad idea to believe the holocaust happened "more or less as historians say it did" unless you've given thought to the alternative. Who are these historians? Who presented that information to you? Do you have an ulterior motive for your belief?
>>
>>55444770
>If you can't get laid you're a waste of human evolution. Your thoughts have nothing to do with it.

Prolonging the human race isn't the point of human evolution, it's a consequence of it's unbiased nature.

21st century, 100% of the population should be capable of self-criticism, because they are not, the world is fucked. People who don't want to know they're wrong will be the downfall of humanity.

Those people who don't want to know they're wrong are a force for evolution. If the barbarians win, they make a barbarian nation. Then they make a barbarian planet, dominated by a race of barbarians.
You can't argue that human evolution has a "point" without sufficient basis on who set that point. Was it you? Or does god exist? Or is what you believe to be the core of human nature? Maybe it's just your human nature. If you want to evolve, you have to defeat the barbarians.

>>55445224
"better" is relative to the person doing the comparing. Better than who? Better than the person you used to be? Better at what? Not better at living longer, I presume. Every second you spend developing yourself is a second you could have spent doing something else, like being that better person, instead of just training to be that better person.

>>55445283

Babies first thoughts about this issue I see..

Imagine you have a pill that can make you live to 10000 years, but in order to take this pill you must perform a vasectomy or something that you can revert later on. Meanwhile you have now 10000 years to try to figure out:

a)how to maximize resource production in order to sustain a 100x larger human population on this same planet
b)how to colonize new spaces/planets
c)how to maximize the space you occupy on this planet
d)basically any other problem related to overpopulation, maybe figure out new ideas to solve it

This is boring, the technical issues are easily dismantled when talking about this issue and they always come from people who haven't given a thought about it previously... I was hoping for some philosophical/moral rebuttal, i'm disappoint

>>55445546
Why do you need to invent this pill to figure out the answers to those problems? Aren't there enough thinkers on the planet already? Why should you make them all live 10000 years?
If you want to talk morals, fine. if everyone is immortal, at what age do you let them retire?

Not saying at all there is a point to evolution, that you saying if a person can't get laid then they're a waste of human evolution. That's an assertion for a goal-oriented view of evolution.

We've reached a point in human history where we are reversing eras of thought. 21st century post-postmodernism goes against postmodernism by becoming sincere about irony. This sincere irony is what makes moral development a key aspect in contemporary western society. The cause of mankind's demise will be the people who are incapable of thinking rationally become the majority, which they have become.
>>
>>55445685

>Why do you need to invent this pill to figure out the answers to those problems? Aren't there enough thinkers on the planet already?

What are you even saying, noone is concerned with that hypothetical because no government is actively subsidizing this like i said on my first post. Therefore, noone is trying to figure out the answers to those irrelevant problems, i just gave you a few answers, i don't think there is a need to go technical like how to make a gallon of water produce double the meat or whatever...

>Why should you make them all live 10000 years?

Why should you condemn them to die? Without seeking the invention of this pill there is absolutely no reason for me not to shitpost all day and live a nihilist carpediem lifestyle. Why would you not combat your own demise? I believe there would be nothing but benefits to society out of this event.

>If you want to talk morals, fine. if everyone is immortal, at what age do you let them retire?

What does that have to do with morals? You don't need to retire, eventually you will create a society where there will be very little jobs and basic universal income will be the solution.

There is only one valid point against biological immortality that I have heard and you are not making it, instead you are just asking questions. Would you like me to tell you so you can use it next time?
>>
Capitalism is better than Socialism and Anarchism
>>
>>55446107
I don't spend any time thinking about biological immortality, mostly because I think it's not possible. I'm all questions. If I ask enough of them, I'd probably arrive at that one valid point. But since you're getting bored, you might as well tell me.

>>55446047
Consider a future in which the majority of people are incapable of rational thought. Those people are still part of "mankind". And when the last few rational thinkers are gone, those irrationals will still be "mankind". At what point can you declare that mankind has met its demise?

>>55446147
Anarchism is actually the best form of government, but you can't trust people not to fuck it up. Socialism is more fair to a population, but it has to be approached carefully, or the economy will implode. Capitalism is actually the worst of those three, because it lends itself to cyclical economic depression.
>>
It is necessary for citizens to be armed and stay armed in order to protect their freedom. (Not the only thing that protects freedom though)
>>
>>55446368
You take up arms because you believe there is an enemy out there. Obviously, every citizen has a right to defend themselves, and that is why they should be armed. But what should they arm themselves with? That depends on who the enemy is. If their enemy is another citizen with a gun, we could disarm all citizens (and then try really hard to make sure nobody can arm them ever again). If their enemy is a state, then no amount of arms will protect that citizen, unless they plan to form an army and fight an asymmetric war.

You're right, the demise of mankind cannot be pinpointed without bias, it is an artificial assertion.
