Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA - Three Tuscaloosa, Ala., police officers were suspended Monday after the video of their arrest of three college students “deeply disturbed” the city’s police chief.

Loud music isn't a law being broken, and can be ordered lowered. If the offending party refuses to comply, then the officers have grounds to enter the property.

In the video the cop was ordering the occupant out of the house so he could be placed under arrest. The occupant attempted to close the door. The police are now justified in entering the house because they are making an arrest. A house is not a fortress that prevents all entry without a warrant.

Perhaps it's because I live in Texas and from a legal standpoint, the home that I live in is basically sovereign property (not literally, but from a legal perspective that's not an absurd exaggeration), this would have been my reaction. Given that this is clearly an apartment, that may have not been an actual option.
Kids should have shut up and just let the cops be "right"; with that video footage, even before the police escalate it to violence, that officer would not only likely lose his job, but also be subject to civil/legal repercussions.
