I've seen three revisions of this board, and the basic climate surrounding it has never changed. This site has always leaned right.
I swear to god "Left vs Right" is a conspiracy by the elite to dumb down all political conversation and cause confusion and dissent among people of similar mindsets.
There is an economic "Right" and and an economic "Left". Former being Capitalism and latter being Socialism. There is a social policy "Right" and a social policy "Left". Let's just call them Fascism and Progressivism.
It is possible to be, at the same time, economically right and socially left (American Liberalism). Or economically left and socially right (National Socialism).
For all concerned, it's best to try and isolate a specific ideology you wish to discuss, as not to get into a fruitless slinging match on the entirely vague "Left vs Right".
For the record, 4chan has always hated big government and big corporate, but espoused ideals of individualism. Ergo Libertarianism would be the best ideological fit. A swing to more Fascist/Trafitionalist ideals in recent years shows less about the appeal of those ideologies, but more about the percieved threat of the increasingly monstrous and unruly Progressivist mindset dominating the political discourse.
