Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA - Three Tuscaloosa, Ala., police officers were suspended Monday after the video of their arrest of three college students “deeply disturbed” the city’s police chief.
The officer who showed up first at the 3:19 a.m. noise complaint Sunday, another who used a stun gun and a third who hit someone with a baton were placed on paid leave a day after their arrest of the University of Alabama students, Police Chief Steve Anderson announced.

>paid leave
So basically they get a free holiday?
>playing loud music at 3am
Degenerate bullshit, they deserved it.

>So basically they get a free holiday?
Could you explain why this is a bad thing? Without paid leave anybody could make an accusation against a police officer and cause him to lose serious money in the case that the accusation turns out false. These people have houses and families to manta in and they can't afford to miss 2 or 3 paychecks every time somebody makes a complaint.

What about after they get fired for chimping out in the apartment complex, does it matter then that they have houses and families?
>>55393705
What are asking?
>>55393618
I never said it was a bad thing.
It's just stupid face saving, if they're consistently being asshats then they should be fired, if they're not then letting them continue to work shouldn't be an issue.

What are you asking*
Are you implying that police need to be paid during every allegation of abuse/libel/etc?
If they found guilty it won't matter anyway, why should they be paid, there is almost no other occupation that pays people during an administrative leave or suspension period?
Why not just remove their weapon and badge while placing them on modified duty performing paperwork or simple tasks at the station?

> playing loud music after 3 am
Seriously, screw anyone who do that.

>If they found guilty it won't matter anyway
If they're found guilty*
They're still employed by the state and are entitled to pay even if they're in the process of getting fired. Not every accusation is credible but every single one is investigated and sometimes officers get suspended over non credible accusations so they must have a policy to financially protect all of them. They're innocent until proven guilty just like all of us.
>Why not just remove their weapon and badge while placing them on modified duty performing paperwork or simple tasks at the station?
So suspend officers but don't suspend them. That makes sense.

that police officer is about to be dead
/k/ had a huge thread about it and the general consensus was if you let someone put there hand on their gun like that you are pretty much dead kiddo
