I got a 99.5 ATAR 5 years ago and I was considering going into medicine/law/dentistry etc. But for me, I don't believe in money being the measure of your success, nor do I think that an early retirement is in any way desirable. Making my country a fairer place where those who were willing to work hard were rewarded with opportunities was much more satisfying for me. Call me idealistic or whatever, but we're all different.
I got hired by the county as a medicaid worker making $20.80/hr, plus 25-50 hours of OT every month.
