There is something weird going on wit Universities and African immigrants.
I work in the oil field controlling the well plan and making sure the drill path is steered properly and documented accurately. Kind of technical, need to know about Geology, some medium level math, and have good common sense.

Hear he graduated with a Petroleum Engineering degree from a very highly respected university.
African guy, moved to America not speaking english, he took 2 years of community college to learn english and get the basic courses in then transferred to above university.
I was very interested and impressed with the accomplishment.
He shows up, is absolutely worthless. Has no knowledge of anything that is relevant. I asked him what classes he took. He just seemed to ramble off names. When asked what the classes covered, he would just say their name again, then blame it on a language barrier. He spoke english very well.
I called the main office and had them verify his degree. They called the Uni and it was legit.
The only explanation we could come up with is that they just auto passed him to move him through the system.
He got dropped from the engineering position and sent to a cement crew.
I heard he quit a few weeks later.
Engineering departments aren't doing anyone a favor by just passing them through. When you get a job, they are going to expect to actually know some things.
