As someone who has smoked both for a week in a personal experiment, pot is by far harder to quit. And that's coming from someone who has been using smokeless tobacco since age 17 (expirement conducted at age 21). I kept smoking devil's hash recently because of a job but smoking weed is much harder to drop than cigarettes because the experience is far better.

I know many normal people who developed severe anxiety disorders from frequent cannabis use.
Usually after quitting the anxiety dissipated over time but it was quite real and quite detrimental to their lives, self-esteem, happiness and overall quality of life.
Many of these people also found it hard to quit.
It became an escape.
Hallucinogens are generally not good for mental health if used consistently.
