When all given options won't reflect my preferences nor represent my needs, and seeing as I'm a few million dollars short of being a self funded billionaire, I say my chances of establishing something to respresent people like myself will be very slim. Therefore I have decided to opt out of voting on the lesser two evils in order to preserve my own moral integrity; while also accepting that I have no say in who will be the elected victor.
>>
Explain the electoral college system and how even if it weren't rigged that every single election would be decided by the vastly predictable non-voting majority.
>>
Counter:

Even if you vote, you don't have any right to complain.

Complaining is annoying, shut up.
>>
>>55362009
What if I'm opposed to democracy?

Surely participating in a system removes your right to complain about its outcomes.

You. I like you.

That probably means that a lot of people vote just so they can have this abstract right to complain.

Counter:

When the given options will never represent my needs, ideals, preferences, and I will vote on someone regardless of me agreeing with their platform, my vote will be detrimental to the democratic process - and my complaining is out of frustration for narrowminded voting options.

Pro tip: You can actually vote for smaller parties when they have a bigger overlap with your own interests, even if they don't make it that's still better than voting for someone who wants to fuck you over.

>>

"Uhh, it's called the first amendment, dipshit. If you don't know about that, maybe you shouldn't be voting"

or
"Unless you run for political office, you have no right to complain."

>>
>>55362634
It's funny because what he says is true? I don't know.
>>
>>55362432

There are no other solutions.

I'm allowed to complain that I'm not wealthy, and stand no chance to get any major funding for my ideas (if I have/had any)

I'm allowed to complain that I'm not allowed to be a-political in this scenario

I'm allowed to complain about the fact that my vote should go to the shiniest of two turds

I'm allowed to complain that I'm forced to vote, even though I don't fully support my vote and such a vote would degrade the democratic process.

I'm allowed to complain that my vote is drowned out by masses of sheep that vote on A or B, without ever having given it even one deep thought.

I don't have to offer a solution. My right to complain is part of the democratic process.

>>
>>55362756
OK, you can complain. But your words are as meaningless as you feel your vote is.

Complain to yourself, in your home if you haven't got anything constructive to say.
>>
>I oppose the Democratic process and wish to take no part in the validation of this broken system or to assign legitimacy to any of the thieves, liars, charlatans, actors, bankers, and traitors that infest the Parliament/Congress/Whatever.
>>
>>55362853
Why does my complaining have to be constructive? Isn't it enough that I feel frustrated and need an outlet?

And complaining could in fact be constructive, as long as you don't trivialize it.

If I was American I could complain about my democratic choice being either an old socialist jew, or a pandering hasbeen elitist woman who only tolerated her husband's infedelity because of her chance of becoming president - and my republican choice being either normalized formerly regarded as insane fringe, or not really part of the party to begin with.

You could also just criticize the entire system as being fraudulent and infested with big business.
>>
>>55362648
I hear you and you're right to assume I'd like the republicans to win. However, from purely technical viewpoint electoral college only makes sense for upper chambers of national parliaments. In presidential elections it only makes sense in countries of relatively loosely affiliated countries (confederations) like the US used to be in the past.
>>
>>55363043
Constructive criticism is preferable to complaining. Otherwise it's just hot air that you blow to make yourself feel better. You have every right to do it, but don't ask people to listen or care about your hot air.
>>
>>55362009

If that was true, why is the world so fucked when many people I know voted correctly and want the right things, yet they never happen?

I'm 26 and never voted. Never will. Fuck your feel good "I'm making a difference and what I think matters" bullshit.
>>
>>55362009

Not voting is an absolutely valid choice. It makes the political class aware their hard support has dwindled and if they're not careful new players could overtake them very rapidly in the next election.

well, by living in a country with a direct democratic system it is interesting to see how people react with this much political force in hand.

Today most people of my generation don´t fucking care about politics (we can´t chance nothing, the goverment is evil, etc. and so on..)on fact the biggest "voting group" are old people, therefore politic is more on the right side and conservative. Statistically when all of my generation (18-30) would go to vote, our average political sides would chance immediatelly.

Now do I think you have to vote or shut the fuck up - Yes, we COULD chance everything, it is OUR mistake nothing is changing.
But most people just complain, for the more "right" ones the immigrants are the source of their poverty (not the fact they just are not looking what they are doing with their money), the more "left" sided people think the goverment is the evil part ("they are not thinking about us"). If you only seek your mistakes in life on other ones nothing can change.

Go vote

>also the electoral college does. Or care about votes at the end of the day
Nice voting system t b h
>>
>>55362009
By shutting you pie hole or voting. Those are the only two options other than brushing your teeth with a pistol.
>>
>>55362009
So what you're saying is if I don't decide whether I would rather be punched in the kidney or kicked in the kidney, I have no right to complain that I'm pissing blood?

Or perhaps the system has thrown sand on my ass and I'm only a real American if I beg for it in missionary or doggystyle? Or maybe I gain the right to complain the moment I do stand in line and write in "I'm not a faggot", despite the fact that via your votes I'm taking a sandy prick in the shitter either way?

You do not combat evil by consolidating it.
>>
>>55362009
But it's correct. if you're against something, and don't use your right to vote to express it, you can't complain. You're literally throwing away your only chance to affect the country directly.

Norway is the best country and will do my part to maintain that.

Actually I'm in a better and more objective position to complain. You rationalize things through your political party ideology while I watch both sides squirm for an inch happy I didn't get sucked into the scam
>>
>refuse to vote
>still complain about anything
No. Just no.
If you wanted to change something then you should've gone out and voted.
For instance on the last Croatian elections only 50% of the population voted. The two leading parties got almost 90% of the votes.
I'm perfectly aware democracy doesn't work but if you stay at home and only wine nothing is gonna change.
>>
>>55362009
By voting. If you don't want to vote, then kick-start a revolution. Otherwise, you really do have no reason to be complaining.
>>
>>55362009

But not voting doesn't negate the right to complain, especially since voting is a futile process.

Don't ever vote for the lesser of two evils. You have to explain your vote at the dinner table for the next 4-8 years.

There is a distinction between not voting from a lack of interest, in which case the sentiment "IF YOU DON'T VOTE, YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN!" has some validity, and intentionally not voting as a form of protest or "vote".

>>
The current system of government doesn't allow for my opinions to be voiced.
There is no single party that accurately represents my point of view.
Change has to come from outside of the system.

I don't vote out of apathy, I don't vote because I am completely frustrated by the system.
>>
>>55362009

Organized groups work together to prevent unwanted candidates from getting media attention, public attention and funding.

So you're left with 2 choices, both predetermined by the chosen winner's side, but the show must still be given in order to satisfy voter-fags who fully bought into the bullshit.

There you go. Voting is a sham as long as actual votes can be accounted for, and they come from living people, not voter fraud from corrupt parties.
