My plan is to wait until my savings is around a few hundred thousand, then purchase a big remote acreage with a nearby lake, build my fortress during the summer, completely self-sustainable with enough food, ammunition, and supplies to make it through an apocalypse and just retire. As someone who has lived in both Wasilla and Anchorage, I can tell you with 100% confidence to stay away from Anchorage. Wasilla seems to be full of a lot of nice people. Even someone who looks like a fag degenerate will hold the door open for you and reply to a "thanks". Even the blacks and natives here seem to be friendly.
As far as jobs go, the north slope has tons of amazing jobs and a lot of people here (including me) own their own businesses. The most important thing to remember is to drive slow in the winter.
