>Be me
>Be college student
>Need a job because parents are white and don't think going to school full time is enough, need to work an excess of 40 hours a week even though this is expected of no other age group
>Fine, whatever
>Job 1, get hired at le gamestop
>Work there from August to February, only end up with 3 4-hour shifts the entire time I'm "employed" there, with none in the last 3 months I'm there.
>Job 2 (While still technically employed at Gamestop), Delivery driver for Burger King
>Management completely gets rid of my position 2.5 weeks after hiring me, leaving me with no job again.
>Job 3 (Some time later)
>Work at local theme park, stay longer when asked, certified to work 7 different rides, never any issues
>Only one position I can't work, due to back problems (scoliosis), ended up in in-house hospital thing they have the first time they ask me to work it
>Tell them I cannot work position any more
>They ask me to work position again, I decline, stating I ended up in hospital last time, they say "Eh, you'll be fine.", have to quit voluntarily
>Job 4 (current)
>Work at le local Dennys
>Hired as Host, end up as dishwasher, which is murder on my back due to picking up overloaded bus boy racks
>Worked 4 shifts and still don't have ID, nametag, or name on schedule

Remind me again of the greatness of Capitalism /pol/. It's definitely wonderful so far for me.

And for the record, I actually do need a not-retarded job at the moment, since my folks divorced.
>>
Ayy lmao, a thread that disagrees with the norms on /pol/, better ignore it.
>>
how bout you just quit being such a pussy. it's not capitalism that'll get you, its survival of the fittest, and you're losing
>>

Oh sorry, my psychic abilities to determine whether or not a manager is pure shit before working for them magically disappeared a while ago.
>>
i'd say it's your piss poor attitude and bad back. but blame capitalism and your manager. that'll get you far in life
>>
>>55335696
work harder, you lazy fuck
>>
>>55336469

I've never had any complaints about my attitude. I don't see how you could come to that conclusion based on my post.

>>55336525

I'm fucking trying.
>>
>some jobs are shitty
>some managers are bad

Wow, anon. I would have never guessed.
>>

Welcome to the world of modern employers.

Advertise a job one minute a week later disestablishing the position and 3 weeks later re establishing that same position.

With unlimited cheap labour coming in employers are paying less and treating their workers like shit knowing they can just replace you by the end of the week.

Get used to it because its only going to get worse. Not only shit tier jobs but IT jobs now being sucked up by Indian and Chinese immigrants.
>>
>>55336570

Well, so far I'm 4/4.

It's beginning to look like "most jobs are shitty".
>>
>>55335696
Apply at companies that do security in office buildings. Especially 2nd 3rd shift. Easy mode.
Most are always hiring.
>>
>>55336762
That just isn't true, Anon. You have to find the right job, using connections and such. Ask a professor if you can become a Research Assistant or some shit. Work in data entry, or a doctor's office. There are loads of menial but good jobs out there.
>>
>>55336762
What state/city are you in?
>>
>>55337066

>using connections and such

Unfortunately I have no nepotistic opportunities.
>Professors
I'm at a community college until I get my AAT.
>data entry, doctor's offices
I'll look, but I have low expectations.

>>

This. Was a Pinkerton guard and worked 40 hour weeks while attending college full time.

Usually time to study and likely get a nap or two in.

After the first couple of months, they let me pick my own posts. Picked a hotel, the night manager would give me a key so I could study.
>>
>>55336525
Basically capitalism in one post
>>
Lol so your saying working at a dennys under socialism would be superior to working at a denneys under socialism? Shut the fuck up you would still be a cripple under socialism, and working at dennys would still be a piss poor job
>>
>>55335696
you are so weak?

fucking beta kek

how do you expect of maintaining a family?
kill yourself weak pigskin
>>
>>55337293
For real though, internship in your field of work. Check your college counseling or whatever they have employers looking for good interns. Expect to make maybe 8-10 an hour but you need the office experience to get a real job.

Tech support, or something computer related.

If you're majoring in something gay like gender studies though fuck off.
>>
>>55335696
Same thing here man. Worked three part time jobs now and they all sucked shit more and less.

They all had these things in common:

>Company/Corporation
>Shit pay and I had to practically beg for shit raises which they delayed giving me far longer than they promised.
>Menial work that was highly repetitive and hard on your body.
>No authority or importance in anything, not even with small decisions.
>Constant demand for impossible deadlines and requests from some ass kissing middle aged faggot who calls himself your "district manager".
>Shit coworkers that would come in late, call off, act out, do less work than me, yet, were never punished or looked at because they were friends with managers or simply relied on less.
>Basically if you identified as a good worker they will expect you to do much more without compensating you at all.
>Working holidays without bonus pay.
>No support from your "company" when fighting against deranged customers who are trying to steal, lie, and scam you out of money.
>Constantly sweeping things under the rug. It's not how you do or what you did it's what it looks like you did.
>No job or shift security.

Getting real tired of this fucking bullshit. Thinking about moving to Alaska and living in the wilderness.
>>
>venting about work prospects in a 99.99% republican board full of traditionalists

you're going to get shit on for the most part

they shit on slavewage tier workers. just full of STEM students who got a full scholarship ride/from upper-middle class families. or people who just like shitting on white people
